Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2026-08-14
PetNest is a social network and service directory for pets and the people who look after them. These terms apply to everyone who uses it. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use PetNest.
[PLACEHOLDER] The legal entity that operates PetNest, its registered address, and the law and courts that govern these terms are still to be confirmed. This section will name them before launch.
1. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code — there is no password. Anyone with access to your inbox can therefore sign in as you, so keep your email account secure. Signing in with a code for an email that has no account yet creates one.
A “Continue with Google” button is visible on the sign-in screen but is not available yet; it does nothing today.
One person, one account. Keep the information on your owner profile accurate. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
[PLACEHOLDER] Minimum age to use PetNest — to be confirmed.
2. Your pets and their records
You can create a profile for each pet, record milestones, keep health records and set reminders. Each pet has its own privacy setting — public, followers only, or only me — and that setting decides who else can see the pet and its content. How it works in detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Health records and reminders are a place to keep your own notes. They are not veterinary advice and are not a substitute for a vet. Reminders are a convenience — do not rely on PetNest alone for anything time-critical such as medication.
3. What you post
Posts, comments, stories, photos, videos, pet profiles, listings and messages stay yours. To run the service, you give PetNest permission to store, process and show that content to the people your privacy settings allow — including resizing and transcoding media, delivering it through a content delivery network, and processing it with our AI features as described below. Content you set to public may be shown publicly and indexed by search engines.
Only post content you have the right to post, and do not post anything about other people or their pets that they would not want shared.
4. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- break the law, or use PetNest to harm, harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- post cruelty, abuse, or content that promotes harm to animals or people;
- misrepresent an animal — its health, age, breed, origin or availability — in an adoption listing, a marketplace listing or a lost & found report;
- post false lost & found reports, or contact a reporter for anything other than the pet;
- spam, scrape, scan, overload or attempt to break the service or its APIs;
- upload malware, or try to reach data or accounts that are not yours.
5. Marketplace, directory and businesses
PetNest lists pet products, services and businesses so people can find and contact them. There is no cart, no checkout and no payment in PetNest — you contact the provider and arrange things directly with them. Any sale, service or booking is between you and the other party. PetNest is not a party to it, does not verify listings, prices, qualifications or licences, and is not responsible for the outcome.
If you run a business account or claim a directory place, you are responsible for keeping your listings accurate and for honouring what they promise.
6. Adoption, lost & found, and events
Adoption listings, lost & found reports and events are submitted by users. PetNest does not verify them. Use normal caution when you meet someone, hand over a pet, or take one on. For lost & found, the location shown publicly is deliberately approximate rather than an exact point.
7. The wiki
Breed and care pages are general information, published for everyone to read. They are not veterinary, nutritional or legal advice for your animal. Talk to a vet about your pet.
8. NestAI
NestAI is an assistant that can answer questions, suggest names and guess a breed from a photo. It is generated output: it can be wrong, incomplete or confidently mistaken, and a breed identification is a guess, not a fact. Do not treat anything it says as veterinary advice or as a diagnosis. What you send it is processed to produce an answer, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Moderation
We may hide or remove content, and suspend or close an account, when something breaks these terms or the law, or to protect people or animals. Where we reasonably can, we will say why.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using PetNest at any time, and you can delete your content and your pets from within the app. Some content you shared with others — a message you sent, for example — may remain visible to them.
11. The service itself
PetNest is provided as it is. Features change, and parts of it may be unavailable, slow or interrupted. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content posted by other users is accurate.
[PLACEHOLDER] Limitation of liability, warranty disclaimers and dispute resolution depend on the operating entity and jurisdiction above, and will be completed with them.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as PetNest changes. The date at the top always shows the current version, and continuing to use PetNest after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Contact
[PLACEHOLDER] Contact address for questions about these terms — to be added.
